In short
Radio Simple España asks you for no account, no name, no email address and no permission to use your location. There are no adverts and no cross-app tracking. Your favourite stations are kept in your own iCloud, which we cannot see into.
There is one thing worth understanding properly, explained below: when you play a station, your phone connects straight to that station’s server, not to ours. That station sees your connection exactly as it would if you had opened its own website.
Who handles your data
Radio Simple España is developed by ApSD-Studio, an independent studio based in Spain (European Union). For anything to do with this policy or your data: [email protected].
What data is handled
The app works without registration. There is no profile that identifies you as a person. This is all of it:

What happens when you play a station
This is what sets this app apart from almost anything else on your phone, which is why it gets its own section.
Radio Simple España does not broadcast radio. It neither hosts nor re-streams any station’s audio. What it does is keep the public address each station publishes so people can listen online, and open it when you ask. From that moment the audio travels from that station’s server to your phone, without passing through us.
The consequence, plainly: that station sees your connection. Its server receives your IP address and may count you as a listener, exactly as if you had opened its web page or its own app. What it does with that is down to that station and its policy, not ours, and we have no way to intervene. It is also why stations count their listeners correctly: someone listening from here counts for them.
We do not know which station you are listening to. The app does not report it to any server of ours.
Where the station list comes from
The catalogue — names, provinces, stream addresses and logos — is downloaded from a server of the studio’s own. That request asks for the catalogue and nothing else: it carries neither your identity nor which stations you like, and the server keeps no record of who asked.
If a station is missing, the app has a screen for requesting it. Only what you type about the station is sent: its name, its town if you know it, and its website. Nothing of yours goes with it, and if the send fails nothing is stored anywhere.
What is NOT handled
- Your precise location. The app neither asks for location permission nor uses it.
- Your identity. No registration, no name, no email, no phone number.
- What you listen to. It is not sent to any studio server and is not used to profile you.
- Advertising and tracking. No adverts, no ad networks, no tracking across apps or websites. The app declares
NSPrivacyTracking = falseto Apple.
On what legal basis
- Performing the service you ask for (art. 6.1.b GDPR): the anonymous identifier, the device check and your subscription status are indispensable for the app and the paid part to work.
- Your consent (art. 6.1.a GDPR): notifications. They are only sent if you turn them on, and you can turn them off whenever you like in iOS settings.
- Legitimate interest (art. 6.1.f GDPR): aggregate usage statistics and crash reports, which serve to fix faults and improve the app without identifying you.
How long it is kept
Diagnostic and usage data are kept for Firebase’s periods (up to 14 months for Analytics events, 90 days for crash reports). Your subscription status is kept for as long as it exists, because that is what allows it to be restored. Your favourites and settings live on your device and in your iCloud until you delete them or uninstall the app.
Transfers outside the European Union
Google (Firebase) and RevenueCat have servers in the United States. Both cover those transfers under the Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission and under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
Your rights
You can exercise the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and portability by writing to [email protected]. Bear in mind that, since there is no account and no identifying data, it may not be possible to tie a request to a particular installation; if so, we will explain that and tell you how to delete the data yourself.
The most direct and complete way to remove everything is to uninstall the app: that erases your settings, the anonymous identifier and the notification token. Anything in your iCloud is deleted from your iPhone’s iCloud settings.
You may also lodge a complaint with the Spanish Data Protection Agency (aepd.es).
Children
Radio Simple España is not aimed at children under 14 and does not knowingly collect data from them.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, this page will be updated along with its revision date. Significant changes will also be announced inside the app.
